Firewall setup
-
Hello,
I tried to setup the Wordfence Firewall and the plugin encoured me to contact you here in the forum, so I am doing that…
I am not sure how to continue, resp. what the consequences of my actions could be. Not being web expert I was able to set up the whole site myself but being asked whether I am familiar with “C:\PHP56-FastCGI\init.php” I must say I never met that file in my life 😉
That file must be sitting on my provider’s Windows server, shared by many hosted web application, mine one of them. As indicating it is Windows/IIS setup.
The “Override this value” option sounds danger so I tend to click “Include this file (Recommended)” button but I can nowhere see any exact explanation why, what and whether there is any risk involved. Why is there even the “Override this value” button? Does it mean override anything in the shared “C:\PHP56-FastCGI\init.php” file? That would not probably allowed by my provider and could be danger for X other hosted apps. So I understand it the way that “Include this file (Recommended)” option means only change in ‘my space’, ‘my sandbox’.
In short: Should I press the blue button now???
Thank you in advance.
Best regards
Jan
