Is this install on your computer?
What do you mean?
I just don’t get the page where I can log in. What is wrong?
Do I have to download anything else?
(when I open a php-file, I always see the window only for a second, is this normal? or is there a mistake in the installation of php?)
The thing is you say you downloaded php and mysql – why?
Where did you install wordpress?
Sorry for my short description =).
PHP: Nearly all files are .php and first, I could only open them with a text editor. So I decided to download php (via google: php download). I wasn’t sure if I would need it later.
MySQL: There I created a database as mentioned in the detailed instructions on this site with the same password/adminname as in the wp-config.php-file.
–>I uploaded everything via FTP on my web server.
Then I tried to open http//myhomepage.de/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php. I was asked whether I would like to open or save the file (I clicked on “open”), but the only thing that happened was that I saw a little black window for just a sec (couldn’t read anything, too fast).
To get further information I changed the settings, so I could see the wp-admin/install.php-file in Notepad (txt). I read that the installation was successfully and that I couldn’t do anything else.
So I was confused, of course!
Now, what is wrong. I have to get to the site where I can login and create my blog.
Any suggestions?
I’m not sure, but maybe it doesn’t work because of ZoneAlarm and other security programms that are installed on my computer?????
Ok – it sounds like php is not installed where you host your account.
