There’s a localization file in the languages/ directory of the plugin. You can use it with Poedit to translate the plugin’s text. Once translated, save the new po file in your wp-content/languages/plugins directory, so it won’t be erased when upgrading the plugin.
That’s the “good” way of doing it.
