I checked in my theme files..there were plenty of
I reomoved all of them but problem remains.
Did they hack any pluguin or it is theme?

I have removed all the & n b s p; characters from theme files but " still appears. Re-uploaded fresh theme files but they appear again. When I posted a fresh post and viewed it in single page mode no " characters appeared.
Upgraded to 2.6.1 but still they are there. How to trace what causing that?

How can I change the admin power. When I login using uid admin it says, You dont have permission to see this page.
You mentioned you re-uploaded your theme files, upgraded to 2.6.1 but did you check your database per article I linked above? I hope you followed instructions to backup your SQL and thought of exporting XML for added backup before upgrading.
As for Admin permission problem, WP Forum Search is your friend.

Yes I did follow that but no such thing found in my db. I upgraded to 2.6.1 and also installed fresh theme files still there are plenty of quotes on main page. How to get rid of that?

What are these strange characters "" they are neither images nor text. Any wordpress pro here who can help me out.
The good news is that the quotes are not appearing in IE6.
Now why it’s showing in Firefox… did you try using default theme? If the quotes do not appear there, it must be something in the files you uploaded in server e.g. I found tag <q> in all widgets – you can see it when you validate your html and use Firefox Web Developer Element Info.
Download 2.6.1 from this site and re-upload. Double-check that all files in wp-admin and wp-includes are uploaded.
