Issue with plain password authentication

    Hi

    I had a previous version of mail Bank that worked perfectly (1.47) on many sites. However, although the disable automatic update feature was ON, it upgraded to the latest version 2.0.1.
    Since then all my sites have problems, as follows:

    1) FirstI lost access to the admin page. I fixed this by disabling the plugin through FTP, logging in and re-enabling it through the dashboard. It seems to work.
    2) However now the test email fails for the reason “504 Plain authentication is not permitted by this server”. Note the email is sent via SMTP on a SMTP server that is located on the same box.

    Could you help please?

    We recommend trying SSL Encryption or TLS Encryption in that case.
