That is indeed strange. Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.
If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts

Hi! I’m afraid that I will need all present plugins. Another thing… I’m running a Multi Site environment. Could that be causing this issue (on the other hand I thought I saw somewhere about that this was supported)?

We don’t have any open reports of it not working in a multi-site environment and I was able to run through the wizard in a multisite test environment just now. So this is looking like a conflict with either something in your setup or with something on your server.
We are aware of an issue not being able to move past the first page on IIS servers. If you are not sure what type of server you’re using, please contact your webhost. If you would like to follow the progress of the report, you can do that here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/5764
If you are not running an IIS server, please check for javascript errors following the steps here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/#utm_source=support&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=support-link

OK! I just had to find out what’s causing this, so I followed your first advice to find out if there is a conflicting plugin… And there is. NextGEN gallery is the one that stops Yoast from displaying the settings page.
NextGEN Gallery is important to me, so if you can’t develop a quick fix I’m afraid that Yoast SEO won’t be an option for me.
Can you please submit that to our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO? Thanks!
As the issue is a conflict with another plugin or theme, we highly recommend reporting the issue to the development or support team of the other plugin or theme. Having both teams work on the issue is a benefit to you.
If you have not submitted an issue previously, this guide will help you submit a complete report which may result in a faster resolution.

Hi! A report is already sent to the NextGEN team. In your case I can see that I’ll need an account to file a bug report. As long as that is a requirement there will be no reporting 🙁
