Can’t indent paragraph

I’m having a very frustrating problem with the rich text editor.
It won’t let me indent any of my paragraphs.
I’ll explain- a paragraph suppose to look like this:
This is the first line of a sample paragraph.
This is the second, with some additional text.
This would be the third, blah blah blah.
Notice the top line is indented as a paragraph should be.
However I can’t get any of my text to do this!
Even after removing all HTML tags, originally had it set to align=left.
I removed all <p>, </p> tags and <p style=.
When i click “save” and do a preview.
All the text is still aligning to the left or center or right,

It just won’t let indent the first line of a paragraph.
This is driving me nuts, I need help.
Using the latest WordPress 2.6 i think
