    Hi,

I am using your plugin to trigger e-mails only for two events now.
One is “New comment in your post”. so if I am the author and someone comments, I will get an e-mail.

The other event is “Your comment has been replied”. So, if I reply to someone’s comment, the author of the original comment gets an e-mail saying “Someone replied to your comment”.

The problem is that when an author replies a comment in his/her own post, he/she will receive an e-mail.

    Example:
    1) Susan creates a post.
    2) David makes a comment on Susan’s post. Susan will receive an e-mail, “New comment in your post”.
    3) Susan replies to David’s comment. David receives an e-mail “Someone replied to your comment”. But Susan also gets another e-mail, “New comment in your post”.

I wanted to check the option “Disable this notification for the user who triggers it” but it’s not available because I selected “Send this notification to the Author only “, I assume it’s author of post.
I wanted to select an user but I get the option to select an user role or a specific user. The user role “Author” does not exist in my site. Is there any way to select here “Author of post” if that’s not what this setting means?

    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jack,

    Thanks for your reply.
    Sure, I’ll wait.

I haven’t been able either to have an email sent when a custom post goes from pending to published, but managed to do it through a function in functions.php

Anyway, I’ll wait to see what might happen.
Thanks again, have a good day!

    Hi @fakurkr,
Ok, after some investigation, I can confirm that what you’re describing is intended behaviour in terms of how BNFW should operate however, this definitely needs some improvement and I’ve added something to my roadmap to improve this behaviour to be more inline with what you’re expected in a future version.

With regards to your other issue of custom post types not submitting, you need to make sure that they’re posted from draft to publish and not autodraft to publish or anything else like that. This should make sure BNFW picks them up and sends notifications for them.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi Jack,

Thank you very much for looking into this.

    Do you offer custom development?
I would love it if I could have this solved asap. If you do, please send me a quote or estimate here or to my address at fakundo1 [at] hotmail [d0t] com

With regards to the other topic, you are correct. I was doing it from pending to published, not draft. So it’s working as expected.

    Thanks, have a great day!

    Hi @fakurkr,
I can certainly look to prioritise this feature, yes.
I’m currently very busy with other work but if you give me a day or two I should be able to give you a date on when I might be able to do this and how much it might be.

Can you please contact me via this page and we’ll exchange messages that way?

    Thanks,
    Jack
