Just remove the plugin completely until a fix is available. Out of 25 sites I tested it on, only 3 sites stayed up after the update.
I just restored the old version of the plugin. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon!
Crashed here as well. The problem is probably the PHP version requirement, which should have been well spelled out with a warning instead of the unusually long push to “upgrade now this minute.”
I tested on 5+ site, all worked fine. What exact error you see? I even see massive speed bump.
Look at my GT Metrix

I wrote about it here.
It creates an internal error and I’m no longer able to access my dashboard or website.
To gain access, just use FTP/sFTP or ssh, and change the folder name of w3-total-cache inside plugins folder, it will still cause error, but will let you get into dashboard.
Mine crashed, too! Treid it twice!!
How do you do that with FTPs? I dont have WordPress installed on my PC. I access the dashboard by logging in via wp-admin
Can any one help me get back to my dashboard?

Had to install backup, site is no still buzy installing backup. Have a 5+ site at One.com, so php should not be a problem.
I had to remove the plugin using FTP on 3 sites.
The admin was a blank white screen as were all the pages, except for the home page.
I liked the plugin. It worked very well, until this new version 0.9.5 came out.
Do you have access to your control panel through your hosting?
In my case, I had to install backup
I dont have access to control panel via hosting. I didnt set it up. A colleague did and I took it over. All I do is maintain the content – well I did
Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any way to fix it without access to the Cpanel…
