i’m having the same problem on the old themes now.
I cant believe this, I had the website perfect for me finally and now it is all down the drain from one update.
Customizer changed? you mean was broken?
It does not save settings now.
I am getting so irritated. I keep hiding the publish date, display author, default category, labels and the y keep coming back.

Customizer not loading as result of google analytics plugin error. Disabled and ok.
Site title text still will not hide.
All colors text & links will not change. Updated to latest raindrops version.
Same issue.
