• Hi –

I am having trouble figuring out how to upload my SSL certificate file ‘unique ID html’ to my “highest level directory”, which I assume is my home page.

The instructions I received (from GoDaddy) are as follows:
You then need to upload this file to the highest-level directory of the website for the common name you’re using — usually, this is the website’s root directory (more info). This should make it accessible by going to http://[your common name]/[your unique ID].html/.

Using WordPress so far I have uploaded the unique ID file to my media folder. But how do I upload it to my highest level directory / ( I assume is my home page)?

    Thanks –
    Len

  • You really need to to work with GoDaddy on this, because it’s their server and doesn’t have much to do with WordPress. But, the SSL does not belong in the Media folder; delete it from there. It belongs in the same folder – the public_html folder – where wp-includes, wp-content and wp-config.php are.
