• I am working on converting an existing website to a WordPress site. The existing site has a top navigation bar and each page has its own sidebar navigation and I need to recreate this in WordPress. I cannot find a theme that has this functionality. Any advice on how to make this work?

do you need different widgets showing on each page in the sidebar area?
you might be able to use jetpack plugin’s widget visibility module

Thank you. That is helpful and I think I will be able to use that too. But I don’t think that solves the problem of having unique menu navigation on each page.

    Here is an example: http://www.nutrition.org/public-affairs/

See how the sidebar on the right has its own menu? And all the other pages have their own sidebar menus too…

create as many unique menus as you need with pages, posts etc.
display in sidebar with custom menu widget.
use widget visibility controls to get the widgets to display conditionally.
