Im in the same boat.. fixed my categories but can’t see any comments in the admin. As a temporary fix, you can search for the letter ‘a’ which will bring up some results.

You can also see/approve comments by clicking the comment icon under the manage posts section, hope this helps for now.
I found this, tried it and it got my comments to reappear under the “Manage Comments” section of my “Dashboard” in WordPress 2.6; give it a shot and see if it helps.

I just upgraded from WP 2.0.2 to 2.6 and while my comments are on their associated posts (e.g., http://ariasfilms.com/blog/?p=183 and http://ariasfilms.com/blog/?p=20) they don’t show up in the “Manage Comments” section of my Dashboard. When I look there and ask it to “Show All Comments” or “Approved” comments in either the Detailed or List views, it says “No Results Found”.
I should mention that after upgrading I had the categories issue (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/189179?replies=12) but I tried the David Crumps solution (http://blog.cumps.be/wordpress-26-upgrade-fix-missing-categories/) and it worked. I also have the Permalinks issue (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/189058?replies=1) and I switched to the default setting and that works for now (but I eagerly await that fix in WP 2.6.1).
So, how can I get my comments to show up in the “Manage Comments” section of my Dashboard?
