    Hello,

I’m having some troubles when exporting a site with simply static. The most bothering is that my contact forms made with “contact-form-7” are not working : I get the form displayed after “statification” but nothing is being sent after a click on “send”. Has anybody encountered this problem ? I’m using site and plugins up to date.

Thanks a lot for clues and help

    Regards

    Nicolas

  • Hi Nicolas.

All the things become statics, so actually, except the use of a Google form or something similar, there’s no way to make it works :(…

    Amicably,

    Pierre.

    Hi Pierre,

    Thanks for your answer.
A plugin like “WP Static HTML Output” have working forms but produce some altered looking, when Simply Static produce nearly same looking but without working form 🙂 A mix of both would be great 🙂 but unfortunately I have no knowledge in this.

You can just use any 3rd party forms provider like wufoo that allows embedding their form as iframes or provides JavaScript code for inserting in HTML page.

    Hi Nicolas,

You’re right, Simply Static doesn’t presently work with Contact Form 7. This is something I’d like to add in the future (the ability to “whitelist” certain URLs so that they’ll stay linked back to the original WordPress installation) but I don’t have an ETA for this feature.

Instead I’d recommend using a 3rd party host for any forms as Pierre and Account mentioned — and thanks for your responses! 🙂

Great plugin. Any thoughts of integrating hooks to create static files on post creation? Perhaps update home page and specific category pages etc? Deleting might be a bit more tedious but doable. The one time site creation idea works but CRUD support would be amazing. Nice work.

    Hi joetomgo,

Yes, those are definitely things we’re taking a look at for the future. And thanks!

    Hello Scott,

First, great plugin. We will be much willing to pay for the plugin price if it is working with the dynamic content such as job manager, contact, etc.

    Thanks!

    Warmest,
    Ven
