Disabling the activation email when registering

    Hi,

    I have had a look around the forums and at some plugins to do this, but i have been fruitless in my search.

    I was wandering is it possible to disable the users email activation when they register? I’m aware of the risk of spammers and such, but this is just to test something before we go or a full on approach.

    Ideally if i could disable the part that requires them to activate their account and stop the email being sent out asking them to do so.

    I’m using
    WordPress 4..4.5 with BuddyPress 2.6.1.1 BBPress 2.5.10 we also run Event Espresso on the site, this does not deal with registrations though.

    I’m not sure if i need to change something in WP, BuddyPress or BBPRess but usually get a much better response from here.

    Place this code in your functions.php, I found the solution in this thread.

    function disable_validation( $user_id ) {

global $wpdb;

$wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( "UPDATE $wpdb->users SET user_status = 0 WHERE ID = %d", $user_id ) );

}

add_action( 'bp_core_signup_user', 'disable_validation' );

function fix_signup_form_validation_text() {

return false;

}

add_filter( 'bp_registration_needs_activation', 'fix_signup_form_validation_t
