    Hello,

I love this plugin. Today I am trying to display a link to an external file, uploaded on a online file storage. This link does not use my file name but rather a very complicated one.

First thing I tried is to insert this link. The result is that I can download a file (the correct file actually…), but with a selection of characters coming from the URL (very confusing), and with no file extension (like for e.g. “.PDF”).

Then I just tried to shortened my complicated direct link with Bitly and insert it. But this method gives me a download link to a 1 KB file taking the name after the “http://bit.ly/”, and still with no file extension.

I am stuck… do you guys have any idea what I am doing wrong here? Is there some settings I am missing?

    Thanks for your help.

OK, I finally found the solution, that worked for me: the “Redirect to file” option must be selected on your Download Options panel…

    Solution found here.
