Any particular reason for not wanting 4.6? 4.6.1 was released a few days ago and addressed all the known major bugs: https://wordpress.org/news/2016/09/wordpress-4-6-1-security-and-maintenance-release/
If the auto-update failed and you still want just 4.5.4, you’ll need to get it from https://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ and do a manual upgrade: https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended

I’d love to upgrade to 4.6.1, but I don’t know if my current theme and plugins compatible to it. I did a lot of customizing job on my theme and plugins, and currently I don’t have time to customize it right now if I have to upgrade my theme and plugins as well to make it compatible with 4.6.1
Ok, if you’re unsure, then you’ll need to do the manual upgrade to 4.5.4.
If you have time, it might be advantageous to start a new installation of 4.6.1 on a subdomain so you can test your theme and plugins.
I just manually updated my WP by replacing its revised files https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_4.5.4. Easier this way rather than have to replace whole WordPress files like this one https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended
I have localhost for experiment with WP, I’ll take a look WP 4.6 soon. Thanks for the help!
