• I’ve been rummaging through code trying to remove the featured image from the top of posts, but nothing I do removes it. I did reduce the size of it, but it also reduced the image page. I don’t want the featured image to display on posts because I will have images in the posts. Please help! 🙂

Sorry for late reply….the new forums here currently do not have the rss feed notifications setup.

Anyway, if I understand correctly, you do not want the featured image on posts to show at all, either on the summary or full post?

I want to see it on the summary but not the full post. My home page is the image grid, so I want to see it there.

Ah… well you are in luck!

I just discovered that my theme setting to show or hide the featured image is coded in the template, but I did not add it to the customizer. So I just now uploaded version 1.1.5 of Morphology Lite which fixed that. I even discovered I did not have this in the pro version either.

To hide the featured image, go to Appearance >> Customize >> Blog Options >> then look for the setting “Show Featured Image on Full Post” and uncheck the box next to it.

**Do that after you update the theme.

This might sound stupid, but how do I get the update? I’m running version 1.0.3.

Nah, that doesn’t sound stupid. Best way is to log into your admin area of your site. Then if you look under the “Dashboard” menu group in the left you will find “Update” that you can click on.

It says my theme is up to date.

Does your Morphology Lite theme say version 1.1.5 ?
Go to your themes area of the admin and click on the details for the theme.

Still 1.0.3. Does it matter that my site is not hosted at WordPress and that I downloaded the theme and installed it myself?

it shouldn’t matter…I’m wondering if WordPress has a delay in giving notification of an update. But if you want, you can download the version 1.1.5, unzip the package, then using FTP, upload the theme to replace the existing one.

I’ll keep my eye out. If I redownload it, I’m assuming I’ll have to recustomize everything? I really do like this theme, by the way. I started with Divina but found it was not very nice to customize. I did really like the tag cloud in that one though. The font size of the tags was based on the number of posts using each tag. I’d love to incorporate that into this theme.

Updating the theme won’t be a problem unless you modified theme files. What happens when you update a theme, it overwrites the existing theme files, so if any were modified (customized), you will lose them. One of the reasons why it’s always best to use a child theme for customizing a theme if you plan to change any code. If you “only” change CSS styles, then you can get away with just using a CSS plugin like Simple Custom CSS.

For Theme info and about child themes, you can check out my introduction for Morphology Lite

Regarding any theme options and settings you have done from the customizer, you won’t lose those when you update the theme.

As for the tags, you can actually override the theme’s own styling with your own, so if you want variable sizes, that can be done.

I was indeed referring to the customizer, so that’s good to hear. Thanks for your help tonight. It’s nice to know the great theme comes with great support! I’ll report back when/if I get the update.

You are very welcome…. if you have additional questions, I’m here….although I’m about to head off to the land of sleep in an hour or so 🙂

I downloaded the theme and reinstalled in order to get the update. I like the improvements! The image is no longer on the post page, so that’s good. Consider this resolved!

    Awesome to hear 🙂
    Thanks for letting me know.
