Love the plugin – it has a well-deserved place on my favorites list. Love Joe’s commitment and dedication to accessibility. But, I am taking a break from the plugin for a bit. Too many weird issues since updating to WP 4.6. I do not see others posting about this, so I think it must be some unusual combination of the plugin, WP 4.6, and my theme (CyberMonkey Responsive II) or maybe another plugin. WP Accessibility icons disappeared in IE and Foxfire, Gray-scale mode stopped working in IE, and – this one is bizarre – external links throughout the site stopped opening in a new tab in IE, Foxfire, and Chrome. The problems did not go away with the plugin disabled, but did when I deleted it. Will circle back after next update. I remain a big fan of WP Accessibility.

That’s certainly an odd experience. Grayscale has never worked reliably in IE – it’s not really intended for public usage, just for testing, so it doesn’t really need to work in multiple browsers, as long as it works in one.

Otherwise, I’d have to know more about the scenario to know anything particularly. It certainly could be related to a conflict with your theme, but it’s not an issue with WordPress 4.6.

The icons disappearing usually has to do with a font issue with cross-domain requests, which can happen if you have some incorrect settings for your home URL in WP admin, and also for a variety of other obscure reasons.
