• Hello, I’ve only had wordpress up for a few days and I’m having trouble getting any modifications to the scrollbars to work. Or better yet, a place to define the size of the page so I dont have to worry about it scrolling in the first place. I wish to disablle the horizontal scrollbars and cant seem to get it right.. any advise would be helpful.

  • Stupid question… why not simply change the size so that there wouldn’t be a need for a horizontal scrollbar? It just looks like the content is too big. *shrugs and smiles*

Shrug… just how I set it up I suppose.. If I could find which part of the content is to wide, that would be better for me…

My suggestion is that you reduce the width of your graphics. My personal preference (it’s not a law or rule or standard, it’s just a preference) is to keep the page width, including the graphics. to 770 pixels wide. In your case, you have a background image that is 770 px wide, plus 13 more pixels for each of the vertical column graphics on either side. So, your total width is 796 pixels.
A browser window set at 800×600 needs width for the chrome and vertical scroll bars. So, if your design stays within the 770px width, you should be just fine, and won’t have the horizontal scrollbar any more.

I have set up my Gemini Interface with #rap width set at 772.px. It is fixed width and doesnt suit everybody but it might give you some CSS positioning ideas.
