• The Good:
Works as intended. Works great for what its suppose to. In my opinion, this is more geared towards a developer doing this for their client. I would not have my client do this as the process is not straight forward. Lot of options / customization. Considering the support (if your using the free version) is optional, it was great. My issue did get resolved, I did get a responce in a reasonable time considering again, its free and they are under no obligation to do so, as many don’t even provide support at all.

    The Bad:
As stated above, a little complicated to set up a gallery. Once its set up its farly easy to add it to the page. Adding images to a gallery could be a little simpler, most of my clients don’t understand how to do this. The exact difference of albums, gallery’s etc is unclear.

    Bottom Line:
If your ok with a little complicated to use each time then this is perfect. Its reliable (one client has over 800+ images in different galleries). Most other gallery style plugins crashed under that amount of images.

Hey @brett , I really appreciate your review. I’d love to hear more of what you have in mind for adding images to a gallery, how do you feel it could be easier? If you have any other thoughts to add of how you feel the plugin overall could be more user friendly, we’d love to hear it. 🙂 Thanks again for the kind review and your support of the plugin!

This is just my opinion on trying to simply things for non-developers so keep that in mind.

The “Import Folder” and “Import from WordPress Media Library” are about as simple as I think they can get and are self explanatory. But the first tab, “Upload Images” maybe instead of laying out all the choices, have them pick an existing one, or create a new one.

An idea for making it easier is instead of simple drop downs, the first tab could be 2 buttons only, and you need to click on one “Create a new Gallery” or “Select an Existing One”. From there the options of what they want to do come up, but the buttons don’t go away in case they change their mind.

Just my opinion on trying to make it more colorful / easier to use. As it stands, its a little too much like something a developer would use (Filezilla pops into my head haha). Hope this feedback your plugin. Id love to use it on all my client sites that need a gallery, and much more.

On top of everything, great plugin keep up the great work!

@brett, thank you very much for breaking down what you had in mind. 🙂

So, to clarify, you feel this dropdown specifically poses a risk of confusion for users: http://screencast.com/t/S8GWHhLKmKPK and a radio button would be easier to understand? I think I grasp what you’re illustrating, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks again Brett! Really helpful to hear user feedback! 🙂

No Problem. Correct. I have used other gallery plugins and some have a similar option, force the user to pick something and then giving them the next option, so on. Those have seemed to work the best for most of my clients to understand.

Again, don’t get me wrong, its understandable as it stands now but i’m a developer, it should make sense to me lol. I’m just trying to make it easier for my clients to manage without needing a developer to add / modify one of their galleries.

@brett – that’s great, yep I understand how that may appear easier.
