problems migrating a wordpress site to new server

    I’m in the process of moving a wordpress site from dreamhost to a joyent shared accelerator. I have the site files and the db copied over to the new server but haven’t switched the DNS yet. I want to test the site first to make sure it is all working okay. However, when I try to view the site on my new server I just see a blank page. Any idea on why this may be?

    I also deleted the config file and created a new one through the browser, but still am getting white pages.

    What could I be missing?

    Then you cannot see it. Period.

    1. blank pages, in general, indicate php errors.

    realize that wordpress stores the url its accessible at it, inside the database – so if you are trying to access the site at another url that isnt the same as the old one, you will need to go into the database and change those settings (if you cant get into your admin area).

    you can also do this by editing the wp-config:

    Then you cannot see it. Period.

    of course you can, but you will need to make the changes I outlined above though. and that alone, wont fix any php issues that might be present.

    Its always best to disable plugins and go back to the default theme before making any kind of moves.
