I was reading the instructions at http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble
however, I do not know what the md5 hasher is, and the link for that goes to a site about radio controlled cars.
That page doesn’t help. I can’t log into the admin control panel to change the password and if I click on forgot password, I receive an e-mail but when I click on the link, I get an error message “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.”
that page does help, have you read it?
you do NOT login to the backend to access phpmyadmin and change your password in the database, nor do you login to the backend to use my script — which is linked to right on that page.
thanks. I didn’t notice the link to your script. I will try that and let you know what happens.
Thanks! That was extremely easy, quick and best of all, it worked.
So the same thing is happening and it seems to be on the support forums in several posts. To repeat I use the forgot password and when I click the link I get “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.” I have tried several times and use the link right away. Okay, I understand that you can reset it through many other means, but why not fix the reset password email issue? It’s obvious it’s not working for many people so why not fix it or remove it as an option?
d3a1i0,
there is a sticky thread at the top of the forum. within it is a link to the trac ticket.
