After tinkering with a variety of approaches for getting documents (mostly PDFs) on my site, I went with Document gallery – this plugin is very straight-forward, extremely simple to setup, well designed (leverages existing WP interface/data rather than custom data), and allows for great flexibility in use.

I actually initially applied v1.4.3 which covered my base needs. After applying the 2.0 and 2.0.1 upgrade, I uncovered a minor issue… and the Developer (Dan) replied within a couple of hours… and we had the entire issue solved same day!! The speed and quality of Dan’s response is really impressive.

If you’re looking for a way to handle documents, I highly encourage you to try Document Gallery first.
