• Hi. I would like to be able to update my plugins automatically now that that functionality is already available.

But every time I do this, and the FTP settings are correct, I get the following error:

    Incompatible archive: PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid block size : 41

What gives? What am I missing? Do I need to chmod some directories or open up some port or something on some firewall somewhere?

    Thanks!

  • PclZip thinks the zip is bad, and it may very well be -. all sorts of things happen when transferring files.

open some ports and chmod all your files to 777, that will fix that. (not.)

What is PclZip and how can I fix it?

Thanks for replying, but I have no clue what your suggestion is. Or was that merely a smart alec comment, in which case I’m impressed. Thanks!

I didnt offer a suggestion, I answered the “what gives” portion of your question > I told you what the immediate error you were seeing is caused by.

PclZip lets PHP play with zip files.

It’s googlable, if you want more info.

Thanks. Yes, I googled PclZip and know what it does. Do I have to install it manually or does WP install it already as a part of the 2.5.1 package? If I have to install it myself, I don’t see any error message to this effect. If it is already installed, well it is not working, and the problem I am seeing is NOT easily googlable unless I’m missing something.

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.
