• Hello,
I was trying to add a sidebar widget to my WordPress site. I was asked to whitelist the following action shown below which was copied from Wordfence > Firewall > Whitelisted URLs.:

/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php request.body[widget-ce4_box_ad][21][text] 9/1/2016, 4:46:37 PM Whitelisted by via false positive dialog

I was unable to get it to work, every-time I checked my site it was not there, and when I refreshed my admin page the widget was gone. The only way I could get it to work was to put the Wordfence Firewall into learning mode as shown below.

/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php request.body[widget-ce4_box_ad][22][text] 9/1/2016, 4:49:16 PM Whitelisted while in Learning Mode.

    Thanks for your help,
    Clint

  • Hello Clint,
This is a little bit weird, you mean after you whitelisted this action through the Wordfence background requests watcher and you got this message saying: The request has been whitelisted. Please try it again. you didn’t manage to add the widget to the sidebar?

Please let me know which theme/framework are you using? so, I could replicate this issue at my end.

    Thanks.

I can’t remember if I got the message you mentioned, but I was unable to add the widget until I placed the Wordfence firewall in leaning mode. I am using the latest version of WordPress, and the Clickbump Theme which is a paid theme and is not in the WordPress Theme Directory.

    Thanks
    Clint
