• Hello,
When I access my WordPress admin via http the Wordfence Web Application Firewall shows the “Protection Level” as “Extended Protection”.

However, when I access via https, Wordfence is asking me to Optimize the Wordfence Firewall and shows the “Protection Level” as “Basic WordPress Protection”. I am unable to optimize/configure the Firewallas it states:

The changes have not yet taken effect. If you are using LiteSpeed or IIS as your web server or CGI/FastCGI interface, you may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect since the configuration files are sometimes cached. You also may need to select a different server configuration in order to complete this step, but wait for a few minutes before trying. You can try refreshing this page.

I’m pretty sure https worked fine about a month ago, and as I already mentioned above it works fine for http. Not sure what changed.

    Thanks,
    Clint

  • Hi Clint,

Are you still seeing this? Hopefully it has been resolved in one of the updates, but please let me know if this is still an issue for you.

Yes I am still seeing it. There are no issues via HTTP. However, HTTPS is still an issue. It used to work fine must be something with one of the latest versions/updates.

I am only utilizing HTTPS to access the admin side of WordPress. My site is only available over the web as HTTP.

I access my site admin via a WordPress plugin “WordPress HTTPS (SSL)” by Mike Ems, and a shared Hostgator certificate on a shared server.

    Thanks again,
    Clint
