themes security 404 error log

Hello- I have a bunch of weird 404 errors showing up in the log for this plugin. The vast majority of the host locations are in weird places (not where my servers are located- I’m in the US and the hosts are overseas- Australia, Russia) and URLs listed don’t exist.

Is this a result of jerks trying to infiltrate my site or something else? Does something need to be done to stop these errors?

Thanks in advance for your help- I know just enough to get myself into trouble with my site, but this is above my head.
