    Hello,

I used Updraft’s Clone feature to duplicate a site to a new site when I actually wanted to migrate content from a site to a new site.

Now the new site is just redirecting itself to the URL from the old site (which is not what I want).

I am wondering what is the process to re-set the new site so that it is like a new WordPress install without any of the cloned/duplicated/restored files?

If I just delete all the files from my FTP and re-install WordPress, will that work?

I want to make sure that it doesn’t impact the old site from which the clone/restore files were uploaded from too.

So if I delete the files from my FTP on the new site, to re-install WordPress, will the contents of the old site (which is on a different FTP) be untouched? (I am pretty sure it will be fine, but I want to double check before I do it – or if there’s an easier step to remove the old cloned/duplicated files from the new site and so the URL doesn’t keep redirecting to the old site URL).

    Thank you!

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus on wordpress.org doesn’t have a feature to clone a site at a different address. Did you get it from somewhere else, e.g. updraftplus.com? If so, you should request support at the site you got it from – wordpress.org only allow their support forums to be used for plugins from wordpress.org.

The best way to go back to a pristine site, though, is just to delete the installed one and re-install WP.
