The Church of Zero had a beautiful animated GIF of a galaxy starfield. The problem is, it is over 7MB. So I created another animated GIF – same size, only 31 frames instead of 101 – 363K.

I then cropped that GIF to create a version for the pages and posts. And uploaded both GIFs to the site.

The cropped version of the pages, BG-sm.gif, plays perfectly. The main image, GalaxyBG.gif, does not show up at all even in the editor (though the picture is in place on the Background image screen), and when I reloaded the original Space5.gif, it also does not show. Normally the change appears instantly in the editor, though it may thake a bit to catch up when published, but it lets me demo to insure it works. This time it doses not, even though I am dropping the gif in from the Select Image option.

If there were a problem with the large gif, I would assume the cropped one would have the same issue, so i am stuck.
Any idea how to fix this? What did I do?

    Thanks.

the one that does not is

They both look fine everywhere but the front page.

Never mind, I found a workaround – rename the file I want to the file that the system wants. It took awhile, but got through
