Search Everything Ajax

This topic about making Search Everything work with ajax was marked as resolved, but the fix involves modifying the plugin’s code.
I’m guessing that on update the changes will be overwritten, and the fix in the plugin’s code will have to be reapplied.

I was wondering if it’s possible to have a checkbox in the Settings, for those who don’t use the Research Everything feature, and that want the plugin to work with ajax.
