Pictures

When I add pictures to a website, I have to type in:

<img src=”http://www.johnmorgan.ca/images/NameOfPicture.jpg&#8221; />

into the editor and then save it; for some reason when I try to do it using the drop “menu” (linked to page, linked to file, etc.), it doesn’t work.
Is there any way that I could type something in so that the picture appears on the page and also so that the person can click on the picture to make it bigger? Right now, by typing in what I wrote above, people cannot click on the picture.
Can someone help me out??
