There is a password protection option in the write post page
Write post subpanel
I’ve always hated that particular feature – always seemed really useless to me, because 1) its ugly no matter how you style it, and 2) you have to give out these passwords magically beforehand.
So all of a sudden you have to use other media to communicate with your blog readers. Lame.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/privatepost/ lets all logged in users view posts marked private.
wp_guy, someone like yourself should be using the role manager, if you are not already 😉

I just mean, instead of the private post thing, in case you were considering it – because it gives you much more granular control of user abilities (including that one).
If you weren’t considering it, then please ignore.
Its a solution, but for such a simple function someone should create a plug-in or wordpress should enable such future. As then you must remember to set private massage settings and it just creates another confiusion. And there are some posts that some WP authors would like to leave open. Again a back door solution.
The role managers is good but it does not solve this problem. There is no ability/function like this in the role manager.
you said ‘to read a post’
if you meant ‘to read ALL posts’ you should have said so. there is a plugin for that – there’s a plugin for almost everything if you bother to google rather than complain.

Sorry for the confusion. That is what I was looking for. Thanks.
:> Someone must post here :> see yaaa
I was a Joomla! user before. But became a big fan of wordpress.
