Getting Rid of Duplicate WordPress Posts

Have you also made sure it is not in the bin?

Try going to settings > permalinks and just hitting save

then edit the post get rid of the -2 and save.

just hit save don’t change anything

All you need to do is visit the page to refresh the permalinks. Structure doesn’t matter.

If you create a post while a post with the same slug is in the trash, it will add the ‘-2’, but once you’ve emptied the trash it won’t remove the -2 for you. You’ll need to do that manually.
