I noticed that you have some custom CSS
.custom-background .sidebar:before {
background-color: #000;
}
That might be the issue. I just tried my local test site and was able to get varying opacity levels as I dragged the slider and checked the front of the site.
Delete the above CSS and see if that solves it.

NO change.
Sorry, that was an attempt to fix it…
No change ….and your version is 1.1.5 ?
I wonder if a plugin is causing a conflict. I just tried mine and it still works. To confirm, the overlay does not change regardless where you slide the setting?

Correct. I’ll try deactivating plugins.

That did it. I deactivated them all. Now to locate the troublemaker…

All plugins are back on, but the overlay is working fine now.
Go figure.
Thanks!
One of those crazy mysteries.
What is important, is that it’s working now 🙂
is it possible to make the entire width of the site transparent, both sidebar and content area? I want one image behind the sidebar and also behind the content area.
my image spreads across the site. i can see the left side behind the sidebar, but i cannot figure out where to turn off the content background color, or change the content background color to transparent.
@cwirth….the forum moderators will probably catch your post here and request you re-post it as a new topic as this one is a bit different from the original topic.
If I can get you to repost it as a new topic, I will be more than happy to help you out. I believe I have a solution for you 🙂
Thanks,
Andre
Sorry about that. re-posted. Thanks in advance for the attention.
