    I keep getting this error in the Dashboard.

    Error retrieveing WordPress Hashes It says something more but I have uninstalled.

    Also, when I generate the API, it looks like it’s generated, but then when I click scan malware or something / change page or anything, the message to generate reappears and says the theme is not fully activated.

    I also really need to know this:

    I can very clearly recall that the first time I installed the plugin, it asked me that in order to scan it needs FTP access. I did not know the FPT account at that point so I skipped, and now I cannot find that page. I then tried to install the plugin on other websites of mine and the message won’t show. Was it the virus trying to do some phishing ? And get FTP access ?

    I also get this error after clicking generate

    Oh Jesus no!!! :-O

    I have been maintaining the Sucuri plugin for three years now, I can assure you that it has never required FTP access to execute a malware scan. The malware scanner is powered by an API service [1] that basically sends HTTP requests to the website in order to detect malicious code in the HTML, JS, and CSS files. Maybe you used to be a registered client and one of my co-workers in the support team asked for FTP access so he / she could execute a server side scanner, but the plugin is a web application scanner so FTP access is not necessary.

    The warning message you have about the “curl_exec” function is generated by your hosting provider, as the message says they disabled that function for security reasons. I suggest you to contact them and ask what reasons were those, if they can’t enable it for your account then you will not be able to use the advanced features of the plugin, some of the features will work without it, but others require a full HTTP transport tool.
