Piwik code not inserting when logged in

    WP-Piwik version: 2.16.1

    The tracking code isn’t inserted when logged in as an admin. Same on the admin pages.

    I found the “tracking filter” setting and tried all possible combinations but the tracking code still doesn’t appear for admins.
    The tracking filter is saved and works for other roles. i.e. when I select “Editor” editors don’t get the tracking code.

    I also noticed that the “show statistics for” setting has no effect for admins. Even if I uncheck all checkboxes admins can still see the statistics.

    My settings: I’m using the default tracker including noscript inserted into the footer. The WP installation is in German and among others I have several WPML plugins installed. No multi site.

    I tested this on my personal blog with WP-Piwik 1.0.9 (2.16.1 is the Piwik version), but here everything works as expected:

    • If I disable the “Administrator” tracking filter, the tracking code is also added for admin users.
    • If I disable “show statistics” for “Administrator” users, the dashboard submenu item “WP-Piwik” isn’t shown anymore.

    The only exception is the “Network Admin” on multisites, but you already stated it’s no multisite…

    Some questions:

    1. Are you using any caching plugin? Maybe the cache has to be cleaned to recreate the content pages?
    2. As you tested tracking on admin pages: Is the “track admin pages” option activated?
    3. Are you using any plugins to modify roles and/or permissions? Maybe you have to check these plugins’ settings, too?

    It turns out my user actually is a “Super Admin” (which I understand to be the same as a “Network Admin”). I thought this role only existed with multisite installations so I never thought that was the problem..
