We are unable to register or login on a site, so to test, we created a fresh WordPress installation. Yet we are still running into the same problem.

Instead of responding as expected, submitting the register and login forms forwards us to a 404 error page.

We’ve disabled all other plugins, and are using a default theme.

We also had our web hosting company disable some ModSecurity issues on the account.

    Do you have any suggestions?

We did some troubleshooting with our web host and it looks like there was a ModSecurity error. Their staff will make an exception later today/tomorrow, and we’ll see if that works then.

Ok thanks for letting us know. Hopefully that fixes the issue 🙂

    Thank you for your response!

The “Tell us a bit about yourself…” area isn’t saving, although the profile images are being saved without any problem.

Does that sound like a settings issue? Or is it more likely my host’s problem?

The Update Profile button shows a finger cursor on hover, but won’t click.

The “Update Account” button works, but doesn’t save any changed info.

Can you please do a conflict test and see if these issues happen without under plugins and default theme?

    Thanks

I’ve had some back and forth with the webhosting company and the problem is persisting.

We’re still getting the same issue with all other plugins deactivated and using the default theme.

While trying to update the “Tell us a bit about yourself…” area the checkmark changes to blue, and the page does not reload. Upon refreshing the browser, the text which was entered is lost.

The blue Update Profile button is also unresponsive.

The Cancel button works as expected (clearing data, reloading page).

We set up a test site on another webhosting account (same company) and after the same earlier modsecurity changes, it now works fine. The company is awaiting higher level support to look at the issue.

    Any ideas?

So the plugin is working fine on the other hosting account? Just an issue with your current host?

Yes, it was actually a problem with a particular WordPress install. The plugin worked normally in other WordPress installs on the same hosting account. Thank you for your help!
