    Hi,
Frist thank you very much for this great plugin. It is very helpful!

I want to report you a bug due to latest update of Page Builder (from version 2.4.9 to 2.4.10). This bug concern the portfolio (custom post provide by virtue premium). After installation of Page Builder 2.4.10 the permalink of this custom post are broken. When we try to access this custom post (by clicking on one of the image on this page) we are redirect to a not found page (example).

After some investigation, I found that:

    • this bug only happen when my permalink are set to: Day and name, Month and name, Numeric, Post name or Custom (/%postname%_%day%-%monthnum%-%year%/). But it doesn’t happen when permalink are set to: Plain.
    • This bug only happen when Polylang (version 1.9.2) is activated.

    For more information, I use:
Polylang 1.9.2, Virtue Premium 3.7.3, Word Press 4.5.3. But the same bug happened for Polylang 1.9.3, Virtue Premium 3.7.4.

I hope I provide enough information and that you able to find the source of it.

Again thanks for your great plugin.
I’m at your disposition for more information.

    Hi Vivien,

Could you please navigate to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and then save the page. Are the custom post permalinks working? If not, please navigate to WP Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivate SiteOrigin Page Builder. Then please return to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and save the page once again. Are the custom post permalinks working?

    Hi Alex,
    Thank you for your answer.

If I save the permalink (option: Custom: /%postname%_%day%-%monthnum%-%year%/) the bug is not resolved.

If I deactivate Page Builder and save permalink, the custom post permalink work again.

I found out that this bug only happens when:

    • Page builder 2.4.10 is active (Page builder 2.4.9 doesn’t provoke this bug)
    • and polylang is active
    • and permalink set to another option than Plain

    Hi Vivien,

Hm. So I just heard back from our dev team. There was nothing that could have caused this in the 2.4.10 update. They suggested it might be related to the Polylang update as that seems to be a key factor in this happening. Could you revert to the previous version of Polylang and tell me if it still happens? (remember to save permalinks)

    Hi Alex,

I pretty sure that PageBuilder 2.4.10 introduced something that conflict with PolyLang. Indeed, the permalink was fine and I only update PageBuilder from 2.4.9 to 2.4.10 and after saving permalink the bug happens. (If I save parmalink with PageBuilder 2.4.9 the bug does not occur.)

However I will set a completely new WordPress installation with only the keys factors I identified and perform the installation of the plugin with FTP (it may be that the update of PageBuilder 2.4.9 went wrong and that the code corresponded to a earlier versions).

I let you know when it is done. This won’t be before a few hours has I haven’t currently access to a computer.

    Thanks for your support!

    Hi Vivien,

To clarify, have you tried the last version of Polylang with the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder?

    Hi Alex,

Yes I have try with both latest version.

You can found here a table that resume all the test I performed on a website with only Pagebuilder, Polylang, and Virtue Premium as theme.

The different tests made me think that the problem come from PageBuilder 2.4.10 when PolyLang (any version is active) and the permalink are set to custom.

    Hi Vivien,

Thank you for the table. We’ll look into it but I can’t promise anything solid will be found until Monday – sorry mate. πŸ™
