Major 3.0.0 Update
-
The 3.0.0 update has been released which come with major changes.
We suggest you take some time to familiarise yourself with the new plugin and report any bugs immediately so we can fix them.
There is an upgrade guide below which we will add to over time with the latest commonly asked questions:

Remember you can always roll back to the 2.8.9 version if your server doesn’t allow the new version (those with under PHP 5.4 installed).

I did get the white screen of death on http://cherrypreschool.org when I updated to 3.0.0. I rolled back to 2.8.9 to restore and will do some due diligence as you suggest… read the commonly asked questions and check with the web host on the PHP version. In the mean time, if you have some insight, I’d appreciated a response.
Hey there,
Unfortunately I cant tell without looking at the site with it installed.
Do you have any php error logs on your server from when you had the white screen of death?

I’ll respond to my own post above. I updated the Responsive Menu plugin on the development host running PHP 5.5 and no problems. I discovered the live site host, bluehost.com was running PHP 5.2. This seemed to be the culprit, so I updated to PHP 5.4 and the plugin runs fine. No thrilled with the web host at the moment, but happy to have the updated plugin! Thank you!
Hey there,
Wow – you need a new host! PHP 5.2 was released in 2006 (10 years ago!) and PHP stopped supporting it in January 2011 (5 1/2 years ago). It’s full of security vunerabilities etc. so you’re lucky you’ve moved away from it.
I would say however that even PHP 5.4 is no longer supported since September last year and PHP 5.5 support is being dropped from next month so I would get them to go the whole way and give you PHP 7.0 and get the almost 100% speed benefits as well as getting all the security holes plugged.
Great you got it working now though and I hope you enjoy it!

Went to site and got blank page with PHP message.
Upgraded to latest PHP, now get this:Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘parse error: failed at

Yep – found that.. thanks… Got site back up.
Menu seems buggy on mobile – rollover/hover colour isn’t working and tapping on opened menu just causes it to shut. Sometimes it links through, but inconsistently. http://eranthomson.comAlso there is a bug – where menu icon (replacing hamburger) disappears and a blue outline shows where the icon used to be. See video here: https://vid.me/uJNG
Hi there,
Do you have either the “Close Menu on Body Click” or “Close Menu on Link Clicks” option selected?
If not Ill take a look and see if I can find a reason its closing on link clicks.
Ill also look at the hover issue, it could be overriding styles in your theme but I cant say just yet.
All the best
close menu on body click OFF
close menu on link click ONThe Close menu on link click will cause the menu to close whenever you click a link.
You can turn it off if you don’t want it
Update caused http 500 error for my entire site, disabled plugins in FTP to figure out it was this plugin causing it, now I can’t reactivate the plugin because it’s ‘triggering a fatal error’
* unexpected ‘[‘ on line 19 in WpRouting.php
Hi Louis,
Im suprised it causes a 500 error. What PHP version are you using?
All the best
Howdy
5.3 I believe
And I’m guessing you’re about to tell me that’s bad, I’d never checked before..
Hey Louis,
Yes very bad – please read the posts above… You need at least PHP 5.4 to use the plugin.
Please ask your webhost to upgrade as PHP 5.3 is no longer supported by PHP, is unsecure and unsupported.
Apologies it caused the issues you are facing but you really need to upgrade your PHP version at least.
All the best
