• I’m working on a website:
    http://www.centerschoolpa.org

    Since it’s been updated (NOTE: by someone else!) I can’t find where to edit text in main column of each page. There is main text box but nowhere do I see sections below that to edit other items. Like the box w/pencil icon is no longer there.

    NOW when I go to edit a page there is only the main box and YOAST SEO info. No pencil icon box! What happened???

    For ex.:
    http://www.centerschoolpa.org/academics/faculty/
    I want to edit the 2 columns that start with “Mia Barth”. How do I edit these columns? Don’t see anywhere I can do that. Before I would edit it in the box w/pencil icon.

    Any ideas? Please help! This is urgent.
    Thx.

  • Hello, TiBK, & welcome to the WordPress support forum. Firstly, I’m assuming you’re logging in as an administrator, editor, or author in order to edit those pages? That’s absolutely required.

    Does changing to a default theme, i.e., 2016, help?

    Does deactivating the Yoast plugin help?

    Usually when something like this happens we suggest switching to a default theme & trying to do what you want to do. If that works, then it’s pretty clear the theme is at fault.

    If that doesn’t work, please try renaming the plugins folder to plugins1 or plugins.old. If that works then:
    1) Please rename your plugins folder back to plugins;
    2) Go inside your plugins folder & append a 1 or a .old to all but 1 of the folders inside the plugins folder. If there are any files that end in .php in the main plugins folder, please rename them to .ph1. A good candidate to leave alone is akismet or jetpack.
    3) Now visit your site & try to edit your pages. If that works, then continue renaming plugins & try to edit each time. Note that you will want to clear your browser cache after each change.

    We’ve got other ideas if that does not help, but this is a good first start, I think. Please let us know how it goes.

    Are you using Visual Composer ?
