  • The problem is not with the plugin, it’s Google API. Here’s how to fix it:

    Hi @chipdot and @sheilaoliver

Our plugin is designed to prevent the Over_Query_Limit error, and we’ve tested it over and over to ensure that is the case. So here’s a few things to look for if you’re still having that problem:

    1) Make sure the API Key you are using is ONLY being used by our plugin, not for any other purposes. If you have other projects, create a new API Key just for your Reviews plugin settings.

    2) Make sure that you have a reasonable Caching time set. Go to “Appearance > Widgets” then open the Google Places widget, then open the “Advanced Options” setting. Make sure you’ve set the “Cache Data” setting to at least “1 Day”. Most users can safely set this to “1 Week” and still see their latest reviews appear regularly.

    3) If you do create a new API Key, make sure to read our revised Documentation article on the new Google Console and API key process:
    https://wordimpress.com/documentation/google-places-reviews/creating-your-google-places-api-key/

    4) Make sure you update to the latest version which we just released, version 1.4.2

Let me know how that goes. Thanks!
