Quick question before I upgrade

    I’m about to upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.5.1. I know I need to deactivate my plugins first, but I have 2 plugins that are widgets. Do I have to deactivate those too?

    If it’s pertinent, I’ll be upgrading with Dreamhost’s 1-click.

    1. Widgets are also plugins… just the fancy kind 🙂
    2. Do it on your own risk (the one-click thing)!

    Does that thing make a database backup before screwing up your blog? If not, do yourself a favour: make a backup of everything, especially the database (with your posts, comments, etc) BEFORE you run any one-click idiotic script.

    We have seen too many people crying here about their disappeared blog after one-click magics…

    Yes, I thought I’d have to deactivate those widgets. 🙂

    It does backup everything, but I plan to do my own backup first (I’ve been using the backup wp plug in faithfully) just in case. The upgrade from 2.3.2. to 2.3.3 went off without a hitch so I’m hoping for similar good luck this time.
