Google Maps error
-
Google Maps were loading just fine then they stopped working and I am getting an error that says MissingKeyMapError. Any suggestions on how to fix?

just to narrow down the problem and help us debug the issue is it possible to try the following temporarily:
– deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problemsSame here! Strange thing is that google maps is working on some sites and on some it does not. Its a Multisite install with Events manager.
Javascript console statement:
Google Maps API error: Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error
hi
i really like your event manager and would like to use in my site, however im getting a spinning magnifying glass on the screen. i have never seen anything like this before so i did a short video clip on 2 different systems showing the same problem. i did all the tips above my post but yet the problem exist.the video clip is unlisted and here is the direct youtube link
https://youtu.be/YZ-62py3eLUi downloaded events manager from http://wp-events-plugin.com/.
i installed the plugin on a Debian 8 64bit self hosting server with
a clean unmodified or unconfigured “green lantern” free WordPress theme installed from within most recent released WordPress.as seen on this clip when i click on the “events” button a spinning ” magnifying glass “covers the whole screen which prevents me from accessing or seeing whats underneath.
here im showing the problem from client side windows 7 and linux machines.
This sounds like a possible conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?
Which version of Events Manager are you using?
I have the same problem *but* after the migration from a domain to an another domain. The plugins that are installed are the same for both the domains, unfortunately in the second domain site the maps are not visible.
The error is the same:
Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#no-api-keys
js?v=3.23&libraries=places&callback=em_maps:35Google Maps API error: Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error
How can I correct the api?
Same problem – clean install no other plugins Default 20/15 theme.
Deactivated Events
added to test a Google map plugin same error
removed
Added another Google map plugin same error
(perhaps api process has changed )Google Maps API error: Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError
Are you guys trying to load more than one Google Map per page? That can sometimes trigger this kind of error.
no, only 1 map per page (single event page).
Same problem here on a new site on a shared hosting server that hosts other sites that are working. Can’t seem to get around it even by adding the key to the EM script that loads the Maps library. Happens in public pages and admin.
Presumably this is because Google changed the Maps API on June 22 to require an API key going forward:

If true then the developers of the Events Manager plugin will need to update their plugin to provide an API key.
Thank you, globalmatt!!
Finally I undestand the reason…@PluginDevelopers, let us know if you if you plan to schedule the plugin update in the next days 🙂
@globalmatt ss correct. We’re working on an update to get around this recent change and we’ll update the plugin – and this thread – when the fix is ready.
Hi All, the latest dev version has an option to add an API key under Settings > Formatting > Maps
To update – http://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/upgrade-dev-version/
We’ll likely push out an update next week or earlier.
This seems to affect recently new sites only, that’s why the demo still works does work for example.
As @globalmatt mentioned, Google sprung this on us and here’s the announcement – http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com.es/2016/06/building-for-scale-updates-to-google.html
