    Hi Antoine

i have chosen to make my fantasy game in steps, i.e. i hide all match types except the current one. For this euro for example i made visible only the group stage and let my friends place their predictions for the group stage only. Now I have made visible the next round ‘stage of 16’. Now in the back-end in the matches i need to change the name of the team to the correct one, i.e. ‘runner-up group B’ to ‘England’. Using ‘England’ in the drop-down selection is the correct way of doing so or is this going to screw up player points in the next calculation? Do I have to change all the names with the correct ones in the import csv or is this going to delete all current predictions and scores?
So i would like to know how can i correctly change the team names of the initial import to the current correct values.
Finally i would like to suggest that a more automatic would be really preferred for changing the names of group winners, runner ups and best thirds to the team names. i guess this is in your plans

    regards

Hi, changing the teams in the matches admin is the correct way to do it. That won’t change the previous predictions.

An automatic bracket is not in the plans as this would take updates for every tournament and for each sport. The rules for best nr 3 for example, were introduced in this tournament, are pretty complex and specific for the UEFA championship. FIFA world cup works different.

    Hi Antoine

thanx for the answer. However it just came into my mind that i need you help with another question. From this point and on all matches are of the elimination kind. One team progresses and the other goes home. But a match might end in draw and then extra time and/or penalties are needed to find the winner. So in this case how would you come around defining the predictions of the league? Would you insert a bonus question for each match like “who is going to progress to next round”?

    thanx

Hi. That’s totally up to you and depends on what you like best.

For my own pool I just stick to the end result excluding penalty shootouts (so these could indeed end in a draw). No extra questions linked to these games because there is already enough to predict. But I also have about 12 bonus questions that the players had to answer before the tournament started.
