Hi Rich,
It’s most likely that your WordPress version doesn’t have support for esc_like() since it is outdated. I’m not sure what version of WordPress you are running, but my recommendation would be to update to the latest stable version of WordPress and see if you are still encountering the issue.
Thanks,
Evan
Thanks Evan,
I’m running 3.6.1. As I mentioned earlier, what’s the likelihood that an upgrade to the latest stable version will ‘break’ something in my website?
Rich
I’m not sure as I don’t know how your theme was built, how well it is maintained, what plugins you have installed, or how well those are maintained. There are a ton of variables that can dictate this. Since you are updating from such an old, outdated version, then there are most likely going to be some breaking changes.
We recommend a minimum of WordPress 4.0.
It’s best to have a staging environment setup so you can run tests before you push your changes live to your site.
Thanks,
Evan
Yeah I thought as much. The Theme is ‘2011’ – that gives you some indication as to how old it is!
I’ll check with the tech guys at my company before updating, then I’ll try to install the plugin again.
Thanks
Rich
No problem. If you do update and things don’t look right – and you need help with the plugin, feel free to post back here and I’ll do my best to help out.
Evan
