• Hi WooCommerce,

    I updated the plugin today but now my website is not accessible and provides a HTTP ERROR 500 message. Because the entire site is down I cannot restore my backups. Thankfully it was on a website I was currently building and not any of the trading websites.

    Any ideas what happened here and how I can fix it?

    Thank you

    If it helps anyone else, create a folder in your FTP within the plugins folder and called it disabled. Put all plugins in that disabled folder then go back to your wordpress site.

    Everything should load up ok.

    Remove WooCommerce from the disabled folder and put it back in the plugin folder. Go back to wordpress and activate woocommerce and run the updater.

    Once updated remove the rest of the plugins from the disabled folder and put them back in the plugins folder and reactive one by one.

    ITS GONNA BE OK 🙂

    Did you work out which plugin caused the error?

    Note quite sure to be honest, when i was reactivating my plugins it went down again briefly. I redid what i did before and magically everything activated without an issue.

    My thoughts are some of the plugins were referencing woocommerce but when it went down to update and reactivate itself it went a bit crazy. When i managed to get back in and reactivate woocommerce and run the updater everything seemed to be ok.

    Sounds like thats the case. Ideally you should work out which so the author can prevent it using WC functions when WC is disabled.

    I did the process Equisitor outlined but only took out the two plugins referenced in the error message and it worked. The two problem plugins were
    * Woocommerce Bundle Rate Shipping Plugin
    * Woocommerce Conversion Tracking Plugin
