    Hi!

I would like to use a theme custom template to display events but I can’t save it in the event calendar plugin settings/display. After selecting my template in the Events Template drop down and hitting ‘save’, the old value shows back up, and the defaults template is being used on the frontend to display events.

    Using Events Calendar plugin 4.2

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • We are having the same issue…we have been able to get it to work by going back and reselecting the template and/or re-adding any code pasted into the “before event content” or “after event content” and saving…then checking the page…until it shows up how we want. After each save our settings are removed…so for any changes the process must start over again…we’re thinking this has something todo with ajax, maybe not functioning properly on the admin side of things within the plugin?? Or perhaps Ajax conflicts with certain themes?? Elegant themes are what we use primarily.

We are also unable to use theme enabled google fonts…since these are generally enabled via the themes functions.php and not in css…not sure what the problem is here.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Hi @katbon,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the trouble! I’m happy to help troubleshoot this with you to see what’s happening.

First of all, please make sure you are using the latest version of our plugins. Once you’ve done that, will you please follow the steps outlined in this article? This will allow us to determine if there is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins.

Let’s start there and see what we find!

Hi Caroline, I worked around the issues because the site needed to go out to the client. I had already followed all of the recommendations in your link, except for using a default theme, with no change to the issues. At this time, I can’t play around with the site so I will probably wait for another release of the plugin, or get back in touch when I am able to work with the site again. Thanks!

I can confirm there is a issue with saving and display changes under the “Display”-tab.

Some stuff is going on with the 4.2 release for sure. And disable everything don’t solve it.

I wasn’t going to go into more detail since I can’t do anything about it right now, but ‘Enable event views’ doesn’t stick either. I do think it’s an issue with the plugin. I saw another similar thread where a different plugin author confirmed as much and said to wait for another release. I’m sure they’ll fix it, it’s otherwise a very good plugin.

    Hi there!

Thanks so much for your patience here–we’re happy to announce that we’ve just pushed an update to version 4.2.1 for our plugins, which should address the saving issues a number of our users have reported. Please install the update whenever you have a moment, and let us know if it resolves your problem!

    Thank you!
