• Hi all
So I have a static page as a front page. All working fine.
Now before I get to my problem my statice front page is called gondwanabees which is obviously the name of my site and domain – gondwanabees.com

If I set my main pages up with my static front page as a parent and my main pages as children of it then for some reason it throws “home” into the url between the two eg gondwanabees.com/home/page-name/

I don’t know where the “home” comes from?!

If I don’t set the main page as parent it works how I want it to eg. gondwanabees.com/page-name/

Is there a way to fix it or do I just not worry about parent/child pages at the top level? I was told they were important.

Thank you so much for any help you can give.

  • Don’t worry about it. Really. You don’t need child pages.

Well that’s a good answer, less work for me! Thank you kmessinger! I was worried not having the parent/child heirachy at the top level might hurt seo (not that it matters too much for me but trying to do things as best I can).

    Thanks again.
