  • This is a moderately complicated installation procedure in that you need 2 other plugins aside from Email Before Download — you need Contact Form 7 and also Download Monitor. I’m guessing you probably didn’t install Download Monitor? Or, perhaps you did but then didn’t upload your file into it … it is the “Downloads” link on your main WordPress menu .. you upload the file there, not in the Media Gallery.

Make sure you have closely read the Description page of the Email Before Download plugin, the FAQ page, and looked at all the screenshots on the Screenshot page. Some of that stuff is a bit out of date, but it should give you enough to get installed correctly (make sure you use the latest version of Download Monitor, not the old version mentioned on the Description page).

Thanks! I hadn’t used the Download Monitor to add the file, was just using the Media Gallery. Works great now. Thank you!

    Great, glad it works.

Just as a side note — if you have it set to ’email’ or ‘both’ rather than ‘inline’ in EBD settings then there is a good chance that the email probably isn’t getting to the website visitor that filled out the form, depending on who his email provider is. Some providers, like Yahoo Mail, are probably going to block the email. If you are set to ’email’ or ‘both’ then let me know & I’ll explain what you need to do (you might want to test with a yahoo email account to confirm that it doesn’t get through). If you’re set to ‘inline’, just ignore this… 🙂
